Position Overview
Teaching Assistant/Senior Teaching Assistants - Carlisle Cumberland Council
Could you join us to make a positive difference to the lives of children in North Cumbria? Due to high demand, we are looking for friendly, enthusiastic, and hard-working individuals to join our Learning Support Service as Teaching Assistants and Senior Teaching Assistants.
Once you have joined us, our friendly and dedicated team will work to find you opportunities with schools and educational establishments across the county. These can be term-time contracts or longer-term prospects. Our team will build a supportive relationship with you and work to ensure we find a position that suits you.
Responsibilities
Our service includes positions supporting children with:
1. Class support/1-1 support
2. Severe and complex needs
3. Additional/special educational needs
We are also looking for TAs to support Adult Learners achieve their GCSE grades.
Special Details
1. Term-time working only
2. No minimum set contracted hours (Initially recruited to our supply register, but could lead to more regular/contracted work)
3. Availability between 2 - 5 days from candidates
4. Applicants need to be contactable by phone and able to work at short notice
5. Expected reasonable travel distance of around 15 miles

DBS Information
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children’s Barred List check. This role involves working in regulated activity with children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with children. A Portable DBS is also welcomed.
