Job Purpose Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner – Marketing, this role is one of month end preparation, analysing and interpreting management information, and decision support to influence key commercial decisions. This role is an integral part of the Commercial Finance team that supports our Marketing team to understand and influence financial performance. Key Responsibilities Finance partner to our Marketing department supporting both our Retail and Autocentres divisions providing both management accounting and business partnering activities. Responsible for weekly and monthly divisional reporting of A&P spend, including the preparation of month end results and articulation of in-month spend performance vs expectation. Work alongside the SFBP to deliver the annual budget and reforecasts of marketing spend, highlighting risks and opportunities to ensure strategy is in line with overall business and individual divisional objectives. Financial accountability of advertising and promotional spend, supporting the establishment of a measurement framework to consistently articulate marketing channel performance and track KPIs that drive P&L performance. Work collaboratively with stakeholders and the SFBP to understand and communicate the impact of commercial decisions on full year outturn performance at regular intervals. Collaborate with stakeholders and the SFBP to evaluate trial / test performance utilising robust financial analysis coupled with non-financial measures to provide clear conclusions and recommendations. Provide support to evaluate specific marketing campaign performance and support delivery of post campaign performance reviews to support future decisions on spend. Effective line management of a junior analyst including prioritisation of day-to-day activities, setting objectives that align to finance team and overall business objectives and ongoing development support. Ad hoc analysis and support for the Senior Finance Business Partner and Head of Finance – Customer & Transformation as required. Positive contributions to both direct team and the wider Commercial Finance team, sharing best practice, knowledge and being an advocate for the delivery of our Finance Transformation programme. Key Skills/Experience Professional Qualification (CA, CIMA or equivalent). Proven track record as a management accountant - delivery of month end processes and the added value reporting and analysis aspects essential. Experience in a commercial finance business partnering role preferred. Excellent commercial acumen – ability to understand the business objectives and focus activity to yield the greatest commercial benefit. Dynamic and outcome-driven individual with high levels of energy, flexibility and commitment. An effective communicator with the ability to bring simplicity to complexity and articulate key messages to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Able to build strong relationships through collaborative working and influence across the business. Understanding of SAP to support execution of month end processes and reporting. Experience of line management be that direct or indirect on specific task delivery. An ability to thrive in a fast-paced and pressurised environment.
