Salary: £34,652.80 per annum
About the Role:
A prestigious organisation in Oxford is seeking a skilled and passionate 3rd Chef to join its catering team. The 3rd Chef supports the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering high-quality meals for the organisation’s community, including staff, visitors, and guests.
This role involves:
* Assisting with menu preparation and food production.
* Maintaining high hygiene and safety standards.
* Ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen.
* Providing support to Chef de Parties, Assistant Chefs, Kitchen Assistants, Apprentices, and Porters.
* Contributing to formal and informal events such as hall dinners, banquets, and private functions.
Essential Criteria:
* Proven experience as a senior chef in a commercial setting.
* Food Hygiene Level 3 Certification.
* Ability to produce menus and keep them within cost limits.
* Ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Experience supervising a diverse team.
* Strong customer service ethos.
* Proficient in IT and familiar with MS Office applications.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
* Smart, professional appearance appropriate for the role.
* Demonstrates initiative and ability to work without supervision.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience with pastry work.
Key Details:
* Shift Pattern: Straight shifts, working 5 days a week, including alternate weekends. Sundays involve split shifts, with regular alternate weekends off.
