RAD has an opportunity for a full time Trust and Grants Manager to join its Business Development team. We are seeking a passionate and strategic professional to support our ambitious plans through the creation and execution of a strong long-term trusts and grants strategy for expanding our work in the deaf community. As our team and projects continue to grow, this position offers the unique opportunity to be a part of shaping the future of the organisation – and ultimately improve the lives of deaf people nationally. Historically, RAD has secured much of its funding from UK trusts and foundations, and while we will continue to build on this, we are eager to explore and expand our income generation plans. We seek an experienced grant writer to help us access these opportunities. This is a permanent contract, working 37.5 hours (FTE) per week. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £42,000 (FTE) per annum depending on experience. About the role: We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in writing and winning funding bids, successful grant and trust applications and who could share our passion for advancing the rights and opportunities of deaf people. Responsibilities as our Trust and Grants Manager will include: Grant writing, management, and reporting Write, submit, and report back on all trust and grant application progress related to RAD's statutory service provision and other specialised community projects. Developing and executing a strategy to maximise trust and grant income for RAD’s programmes and services. Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing funders, while identifying and engaging with new grant opportunities. Identify and research potential funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and funders. Work with the Data team and Service Managers to ensure handover of new grant requirements for implementation, measuring outcomes and reporting against contracts. Strategy and development Work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to understand funding needs and priorities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Stay updated on legislative changes and other news in trusts and grants fundraising to keep RAD competitive and innovative in its approach. Develop and build strong relationships with existing and new partners, stakeholders and funders, attending networking events, online forums and webinars to keep them well informed about the needs of deaf people and why our work is critical. Essential requirements we’re looking for: Successful bid writing experience and a strong understanding of commissioning and procurement processes. Possess excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling, and persuasive content for funding applications and expressions of interest. Have strong research skills, with the ability to identify and assess potential funding opportunities. Think strategically and logically, and be able to make plans, set targets, and evaluate success. Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines. Have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Be committed to RADs mission, vision, and values. Confidently able to advocate for the needs and wishes of the people who we support in funding applications. A willingness to undertake additional training/qualifications that are relevant to the post. Flexible in approach to working including some evenings or weekends when required.
