About the role Within the Financial Control Unit, the Group Controllership team aims to safeguard operational excellence and compliance in the areas of technical accounting, financial consolidation, statutory accounting and key financial processes. As a entity controller - accountant, the candidate will ensure smooth compliant accounting process. In line with established policies and procedures and under instructions/controls of management, He/she will pan, organise and control general accounting operations, book manual accounting entries (for accruals and deferrals), prepare statutory financial statements, perform payroll accounting monthly entries, prepare accounts reconciliation and control/analyse balance sheets/profit and loss accounts to ensure accuracy of accounting records and compliance with internal procedures and accounting rules. The candidate, together with the Group Controllership Manager, will have regular contacts with the Entity Controllers team in Asia and other key Finance Managers as well as with external financial auditors which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal. As an entity controller - accountant you will: Perform the accurate and timely monthly and annual closings/analysis in compliance with Swift quality standards. This includes booking of accruals and deferrals, accounting entries and reviews of data and trends. Perform regular accounts reconciliations including follow up and closure of open items Oversee ad hoc in-depth accounting treatment analyses. Provide information, documentation, comments and recommendations to management and to concerned departments Prepare legal entity financial statements in compliance with local GAAP and IFRS and support the audit process. Regulatory monitoring and reporting obligation to local regulators and government agencies Maintain contacts with relevant internal (e.g. tax and entity controllers teams) and external parties (e.g. tax agents, external auditors…) in order to answer queries, capture information and resolve pending issues. Find opportunities to streamline processes to ensure efficiency and compliance with internal governance standards, controls and policies and external regulatory requirements and support implementations of solutions. Build and maintain working knowledge and understanding of key business drivers and strategy for area of expertise. Support the rest of team on the group general accounting processes including the consolidation, intercompany and monthly closing processes. What would make you successful? University degree in Accounting, Finance and Economics or equivalent experience. ACCA/ membership of recognised professional accountancy bodies preferred. At least 3 to 4 years of experience within an accounting/audit position, of which 3 years in a financial audit company (Big4) is an asset.
