Business Development Manager – Eastern Region Area to be covered - A1 corridor from Newcastle to Peterborough

Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Establish, develop and generate new business to ensure targeted growth
2. Develop and maintain successful relationships at all levels to develop new business opportunities
3. Identify and develop new end user business to drive through specified distributors
4. Identify, develop and establish new business, including to expand public sector customer base
5. Identify new potential distributors
6. Recommend and develop new product development and key product opportunities by surveying consumer needs and trends
7. Keep abreast with products, market conditions and competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through research
8. Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products
9. Work effectively with the internal sales team, external colleagues and partners, developing new business ideas
10. Work closely with the Lincat Marketing department to develop consistent lead generation, new business ideas and opportunities
11. Participate in trade shows, events and conventions
12. Update CRM system
13. Expedite and support the resolution of customer problems and complaints
14. Structure time to plan journeys within the region to ensure effective visits
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
15. Must have experience in the commercial catering marketplace
16. Successful sales track record
17. Experience and knowledge of end user and distributor selling, and targeted sales growth
18. Proactive and able to make decisions
19. High level organisational and time management skills and the ability to pragmatically assess and manage priorities
20. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal professionally and empathetically with all clients, internal and external stakeholders
21. The ability to assess customer demand commercially, alongside cost implications and to negotiate skillfully, and confidently
22. High level of attention to detail
23. Probing and enquiring mind in order to be able to explore options and develop business opportunities
24. Computer literate, specifically Microsoft Office
25. Knowledge of CRM systems
26. Flexible and able to travel
