About the role:
With responsibility for the delivery of Engineering projects on time and on cost, the core purpose of this role will be to ensure technical performance standards are maintained, to deliver hydraulic system designs that meet customer specifications and regulatory needs and to assist with continuous improvement of the design engineering capability.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Develop hydraulic design solutions working in conjunction with mechanical and controls engineers and designers within the team.
2. Check and approve drawings.
3. Prepare technical documents such as specifications, reports, manuals, procedures etc.
4. Undertake hydraulic hardware development and testing.
5. Compile technical documents and test specifications.
6. Interpret technical specifications.
7. Liaise with suppliers and act as a KNDS representative at customer review meetings.
8. Provide support for the production, test and field engineering teams. Support the sales team with bids and quotations.
What we’re looking for:
Applications from candidates who can demonstrate the following requirements will be considered, however, if you do not meet all the requirements, please explain why you are suitable for the position:
1. Qualified to Degree level in relevant engineering subject.
2. Proven experience in design, testing and development of hydraulic systems.
3. Medium to heavy engineering experience.
4. Have proven experience in the design of systems from original concept design, produced from a specification, through to production in a Lead role.
5. Excellent IT skills (MS package and analysis tools).
6. Experience in developing hydraulic systems alongside PLC control systems.
7. Experience in producing user handbooks and maintenance instructions to accompany hydraulic systems.
8. Ability to work well within the team.
9. Using initiative and thinking outside the box.
10. Great analytical skills.
11. Highly organised and methodical approach, with an eye for detail.
12. A flexible, conscientious, and diligent attitude.
13. Full, clean driving license.
14. Experience of people management.
