Our role is a great opportunity for a Chartered or near Chartered Engineer looking to develop their skills and broaden their experience further within a leading UK Trade Association. Within the post, you will have the chance to contribute to an essential industry critical to the UK construction and manufacturing sector.
The main purpose of this new additional post is to assist in growing the market for concrete in construction projects by enabling and equipping the members of the design and construction supply chain, using expert technical and commercial knowledge, with the why and how to use concrete against competing materials.
Our role?
1. To provide expert technical support and advice to specifiers on concrete construction in Structural Engineering.
2. To assist in the use of concrete and masonry concepts in buildings by producing technical design guides, software programs, promotional brochures and technical brochures; by lecturing at seminars, lectures and at exhibitions; by preparing press or technical articles, etc.
3. To develop and maintain contacts with construction industry supply chain members in these sectors and to use personal knowledge and experience of the use of concrete and masonry in construction to put the case for concrete and masonry and favourably influence the choice of concrete construction products.

What are we looking for in you?
1. A Chartered or near Chartered Engineer level, and an active participant in IStructE /ICE.
2. Have career experience of design and construction with concrete and other materials in the UK construction industry within a commercial environment.
3. Be able to prepare and confidently deliver technical presentations to large audiences of construction industry professionals, plus represent the concrete sector on national and international committees.
