Service Controller
Location: Hove or Bexhill
Salary: £12.51 per hour
Contract: Casual, Zero Hours
Hours: As and when required
Driving: Full UK Manual Driving Licence Required With a Minimum of 2 years Driving Experience (Mandatory)
We are looking for a dynamic individual who can ensure the effective and efficient day to day logistics operation within the service by coordinating the distribution of service user journeys.
The British Red Cross Health and Local Crisis Response are looking to recruit a Service Controller to manage our vehicles and logistics in the Hove / Bexhill area.
A day in the life of a Service Controller will include:
1. Take incoming calls from the hospitals, identifying and risk assessing referrals.
2. Co-ordinating the crew and allocating work to respond to the necessary elements of the service as required by service users (including transport, resettlement and sitting services).
3. Manage time efficient routes on a daily basis, making effective use of resources to meet service user requirements.
4. Ensure the contracted service is delivered on a timely basis to the required standard in line with policies and procedures.
5. Work and support other services within the area to maintain a “hub” approach to service delivery.
6. Treat all callers with respect, courtesy and cordiality, whilst obtaining relevant accurate information quickly.
7. Support the team with service delivery to cover gaps in service provision.
8. Vehicle management and licence checks.
To be a successful Service Controller you'll need:
1. Excellent customer service skills, with a caring attitude towards service users and an outgoing friendly manner.
2. IT literate: working knowledge of spreadsheet, email, web based and word processing software.
3. Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
4. Ability to deal with queries in a diplomatic and confidential manner.
5. Good driving skills in order to carry out driver observation.
6. Full UK Manual Driving Licence with a minimum of 2 years driving experience.
