We are recruiting for a Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for providing support to the Head of Health, Safety and Facilities (HSF), maintaining and updating the relevant documentation, assisting with undertaking the necessary assessments in partnership with the HSF ensuring a safe working environment for all.

Role:
Conduct and review risk assessments
Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation
Inspecting production equipment and processes to ensure safety
Providing support to the HSF and all department managers in achieving legislative compliance and implementation of the company Health & Safety Management System
Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in all areas of safety
Ensuring the safety protocols are followed by employees
Work collaboratively with different departments including production, warehouse, QA and site services to ensure the workplace safety
Conduct monthly Fire Checks, Legionella temperature tests and collate monthly WMF data
Conduct H&S Inductions to new starters
Oversee the safety of contractors on Harwin sites
Assist in the safe movement of hazardous substances
Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar role
IOSH experience, through an IOSH certificate and/or previous work experience (essential)
NEBOSH certification (desirable)
The confidence to delivery Health and Safety inductions and updates
Excellent organisational skills
High level of communication skills both written and verbal
Experience of dealing with a variety of stakeholders across a business
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A high level of computer literacy, particularly with MS Office
