What Are We Looking For?
We're seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer specialising in Display Systems to join our team, reporting to the Software Engineering Manager or Software Team Leader. This role is crucial in maintaining and developing our award-winning range of products for projector and monitor-based 3D display systems for Air Traffic Control simulations. You'll work on exciting emerging technologies including Digital Towers, system design, and automated calibration of large-scale systems. This customer-facing role requires a passion for travel and customer engagement, combined with strong technical expertise to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and implement display system product features to agreed specifications
Support system design, technical proposals and customer design reviews
Interact with suppliers of our 3D rendering system for integration and feature developments
Investigate and resolve hardware and software issues across diverse systems
Run customer demonstrations and produce supporting sales materials
Analyse and resolve defects reported internally and by customers
Produce high-quality code to time and budget with minimal technical guidance
Perform effective reviews of functional requirements, software designs and code changes
Serve as technical lead on small projects, either solo or with a small team
Mentor new team members and junior engineers
Provide accurate effort estimates and progress reports for assigned tasks
Support customers through help desk queries when required
Who Are You?
An experienced software engineer with a passion for display systems and 3D rendering technologies
Strong problem-solver with excellent analytical and mathematical thinking skills
Customer-focused professional comfortable with client-facing responsibilities
Collaborative team player who can also work independently
Mentor with the ability to guide junior engineers and share knowledge
Technical leader capable of managing small projects and teams
Technical Requirements & Experience:
Degree qualified or equivalent in Software Engineering or a related discipline
At least 4 years' experience in a software development environment, including technical leadership
Familiarity with APIs such as DirectX, Vulkan or OpenGL
Hands-on experience with hardware integration and electronic devices
Experience or interest in image processing
Extensive knowledge of the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Proven knowledge and use of version control software
Experience working in team environments with cross-discipline collaboration
Experience working with different software development lifecycles (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum)
