We are creating innovative pathways to develop clinical leaders and we are now looking for pharmacists to join our expanding team. Due to a number of internal promotions, and building on the success of our new integrated training scheme for foundation pharmacists, we are delighted to offer opportunities working in cross-sector posts, combining a role in GP practices with hospital wards/departments with future opportunities to review sector specific roles. These posts will be patient-centred and will give you the opportunity to develop your clinical and technical skills in practice.
You will receive support from an educational supervisor, and the wider pharmacy team, as well as peer support from other Foundation pharmacists. Successful applicants will be supported to complete the RPS Post Registration Foundation Training programme which equips pharmacists with a broad range of core skills via completion of learning outcomes, to become clinical practitioners. This course is inclusive of the independent prescribing qualification.
The NHS Fife Pharmacy and Medicines Directorate provides an integrated service to a population of approximately 380,000 people, with a team of around 300 Pharmacy staff, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Support Workers, Nurses, and Administrators. The team work across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams. Partnership working is at the core of our values, and we work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including our Community Pharmacy colleagues, to deliver the highest quality care for everyone in Fife. There are opportunities to become involved in a range of projects across the integrated Pharmacy service as well as shaping the future vision for the service.
Hospital or primary care experience is not essential as training will be fully supported. The posts are also open to pharmacists currently undertaking their post graduate foundation training year who would be in a position to commence post later this year.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
