We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants with a specilaism in SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) who can provide essential support within specialist settings in Nottingham. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about helping students with SEMH needs succeed and make meaningful progress in their education.
We're seeking SEMH Teaching Assistants who:
- Have experience working with children or young people, especially those with SEMH or additional learning needs.
- Are committed to supporting students' emotional, social, and academic development.
- Exhibit a positive, patient, and flexible approach when working with students with SEMH needs.
- Can support teachers in delivering engaging lessons while maintaining a calm and encouraging classroom atmosphere.
- Are confident in offering one-to-one or small group support for students with varying needs.

Skills and Qualifications Required:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, grade C or above.
- Additional qualifications or experience in special educational needs (SEN) or intervention programs.
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with a Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
- Ability to adapt learning and interventions to meet the needs of individual pupils.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Understanding of strategies for supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Ability to work effectively with children from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Able to maintain focus and positivity in a fast-paced school environment.
