About the School
In 2023, Ofsted rated Calderstones School 'Good' in all areas. Our large, successful, richly diverse comprehensive school is adjacent to Calderstones Park, South Liverpool. The school's comprehensive nature and community spirit is something that we value immensely. In every aspect of school life, we aim to offer a first-class education to local children, whatever their background, gender, prior attainment, or faith. We will raise the bar for our students and our staff with the view that 'nobody rises to low expectations'. The school has impressive facilities across the campus including a swimming pool, ample secure staff parking and full equipped gym.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Teacher of Religious Studies to join an ambitious, forward-thinking department. Religious Studies is taught by a small team of experienced and dedicated staff who are committed to promoting the academic success of our students, but also to provide them with a richer, more well-rounded view of the world and the belief systems within it, as well as developing critical thinking skills to allow students to make up their own minds whilst still ensuring that they keep an open mind.
Religious Studies forms part of the wider social science faculty which also contains Sociology and Psychology. Within the Religious Studies Department we set high standards and expectations for both ourselves and our students. This post provides an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to join and contribute to a team which is forward-thinking, enthusiastic and most of all supportive. Applications from ECT's are welcome.
Personal Qualities
This role would suit someone with the ability to help develop and to support a vision of high-quality education based on the moral integrity of the school's core values. You will have the ability to plan and organise time effectively, work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst keeping equilibrium. You will have energy, drive and enthusiasm, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
How to Apply
All applications can be made via the TES website or via the school website at www.calderstones.co.uk. Please return the application form with covering letter and the Equal Opportunities Monitoring form. Closing Date: By 9.00 am on Friday 21st February 2025 (CV's will not be considered)
