Underwriting Assistant (3 month Fixed Term)
We are currently looking for an Underwriting Assistant to be based in London on an initial three month contract, full-time basis, reporting into the Group Head of Casualty.
This individual will provide an accurate and quality administrative service to the Casualty Team demonstrating care for customers and respect for the regulatory obligations of the firm.
Responsibilities:
* Accurate input of data to the in-house S2000 underwriting system;
* Scanning, photocopying, and filing of documents as required;
* Transfer underwriting information from slips to individual front sheets to provide more efficient retrieval of information;
* Produce monthly renewals report from S2000 and chase brokers for outstanding renewals;
* Produce account premium chasing reports and chase brokers for outstanding premiums;
* Produce ad hoc reports to aid account analysis and/or management reports as required;
* Keep appropriate records of all conversations with customers and/or insurers, or other relevant business contacts, in accordance with the firm’s procedures manual;
Knowledge and Skills:
* Basic knowledge and understanding of:
o Underlying Principles of Insurance;
o Legal Principles;
o Financial Services Authority rules and regulations;
* Lloyd’s regulations;
* Appreciation of Liability / Casualty Insurance;
* GCSE/A-Level educated;
* Relevant professional qualification/qualification by experience;
