Due to continued success and exciting new projects, this company is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join their expert design team at our Southampton Head Office.
The Role
As a Lead Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of electrical design across a diverse range of engineering projects. Reporting to the Electrical Design Manager, you will oversee project-specific deliverables, design execution, and team collaboration to ensure high-quality solutions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing project-specific electrical design deliverables
2. Developing detailed designs in line with the company's procedures and industry standards
3. Interpreting client requirements and ensuring compliance with specifications
4. Conducting site surveys, feasibility studies, and optioneering exercises
5. Producing procurement specifications and detailed construction drawings
6. Overseeing third-party designs and supporting installation & commissioning teams
7. Reviewing vendor Functional Design Specifications for compliance
8. Completing design calculations and full power system modelling (AMTECH)
9. Developing electrical scopes, specifications, cable schedules, and telemetry schedules
10. Performing design risk assessments and maintaining project documentation
What We're Looking For
* A relevant electrical qualification (or equivalent experience)
* Chartered Engineer status (desirable, but not essential)
* Experience in electrical design, power distribution, and control systems
* Proficiency in AMTECH, CAD, and other industry-standard design tools
* Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills
