Strategic Buyer Salary Competitive Blyth, Northumberland Jackson Hogg Procurement division are excited to be exclusively partnered with an innovative and ambitious manufactuing organisation in Blyth on the appointment of a Strategic Buyer to join their team. This role is brand new for the market and will focus on sourcing activities, maintaining strong supplier relationships and effective negotiation, whilst supporting Sales, Engineering and Operations to source business critical materials, components and services. This role works in a Purchasing team of 3 people and is based predominantly on site. The position is a full time and permanent role. Salary on offer is competitive with some excellent benefits The Role: Identify relevant vendors. Engage and negotiate best conditions to support on winning new business award. Onboard new suppliers, new materials and services for repeat purchasing. Monitor supplier relationships for technological and process advancements to improve offering to the business. Oversee MRP signals for new buy, cancel, push and pull. Ensuring material arrives on time at standard cost to ensure efficient operations. Oversee expediting deliveries from suppliers that are overdue or urgent. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements through negotiation and tendering. Monitoring supplier performance through KPIs. Developing strong relationships with existing suppliers. Ensuring correct supplier details and material prices are maintained within the ERP system.
