Job Title: Clerk of Works - Stock Condition Surveys
Successful candidates will have previous experience in undertaking stock condition surveys, primarily in the residential sector. As a Clerk of Works, you will act as the principal point of contact with the client regarding construction quality.
Holding a UK driving license is essential for this role, and the Clerk of Works should be willing to travel across South London as required.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Conduct comprehensive stock condition surveys within tenanted homes, assessing the condition of properties across the South London region.
2. Work to employer KPIs related to dictations and photographs following site surveys/inspections.
3. Provide insightful reports and recommendations to improve the quality and condition of the housing stock.
4. Collaborate with clients throughout the housing stock surveying process.
5. Maintain accurate data to support asset management strategies and compliance.
6. Work independently and be responsible for the successful delivery of Clerk of Works services on all projects.
7. Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Provide excellent service to clients and colleagues.
9. Work within a construction site environment, including climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.
Desired Skills and Experience
1. Extensive experience in undertaking stock condition surveys.
2. Qualified or experienced in assessing properties to HHSRS standards (or willing to undertake training).
3. Hold a CSCS card (or willing to undertake the required test).
4. Understanding of the building industry, including materials, trades, methods, and legal requirements.
5. Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
6. Technical proficiency in identifying defects, snaps, and general construction quality.
7. Proficiency in IT and willingness to adopt new technology.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
1. Member or licentiate of the ICWCI (or willing to undertake training).
2. A formal qualification in construction, engineering, or project management would be advantageous.
