The Gene Therapy Innovation and Manufacturing Centre (GTIMC) at the University of Sheffield is a cutting-edge facility dedicated to advancing life-changing gene therapies. As part of our pioneering team, you will play a crucial role in managing materials within our GMP-compliant warehouse, ensuring the availability, quality, and regulatory compliance of raw materials for the production of clinical-grade gene therapy products.
GTIMC is one of three pioneering hubs in the UK developing and manufacturing new genetic treatment options for millions of patients with life-threatening diseases. The core of the centre will be an MHRA-licensed Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility manufacturing clinical grade Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) products with all the vital quality assurance and regulatory certification for human trials at NHS hospital sites. As a brand-new manufacturing facility, we are exceptionally well-resourced, housing state-of-the-art equipment.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced warehouse or logistics specialist with a background in regulated environments, ideally GMP. You will be responsible for inventory management, procurement coordination, and material movements on site, working closely with manufacturing and quality teams. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow strict regulatory procedures are essential for success in this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● As a GMP Warehouse Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:
● Managing inventory to ensure efficient levels of raw materials are available for production, and coordinating procurement activities to ensure timely and efficient sourcing of materials.
● Coordinating the movement of materials across the facility while maintaining strict compliance with GMP regulations, while ensuring the accurate and timely documentation of all material transactions.
● Conducting regular audits and inspections to uphold the highest standards of quality, and to Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies or issues.
● Implementing and maintaining robust warehouse management systems in collaboration with teams across the facility to ensure seamless operations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

● Experience in warehouse or logistics management, preferably in a GMP or similarly regulated environment such as food production.
● Strong understanding of GMP regulations and requirements with a proven ability to rigorously adhere to regulatory procedures.
● Outstanding attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organisation, with effective communication and customer care skills, both written and verbal.
● Excellent organizational and time management abilities,
● Proficiency in warehouse management software and inventory control systems.
