Senior Support Worker
Location: New Milton - Learning Disabilities Residential Home Setting
Salary: £28,047 Full Time Annual Salary
Salary is based on 40 hours per week, £25,547 Basic Salary + £2500 Market Rate Allowance
Additional Allowances available for weekend / night shifts
Full Time, Permanent Contract

Essential Requirements:
* Be flexible and able to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as part of the rota as required
* Have Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or be prepared to work toward it
* Be able to provide coaching, advice and supervision support to staff.
* Have experience of managing and developing service rotas.
* Be able to work to and monitor standards specific to the services.
* Be able to work professionally and in partnership with external agencies and client families.
* Have sound knowledge of best practice around recovery-based support and person-centred planning and risk management.
* Be willing and able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including sleep in’s and weekend working.
* Ideally possess a driving license and have access to a car with business insurance for use at work
The Role:
As senior your role is to work with the Registered Care Home Manager to manage and support staff and clients within the home. The services are managed in accordance with YOU and external quality standards (Care Quality Commission) for the day-to-day operation of the registered home.
The post holder will be first port of contact in periods of leave or prolonged absence of the Manager. The Senior will provide supervision, reflective practice, support and guidance to staff, our internal agency workers and volunteers to ensure recovery focused, strength-based practice is embedded in practice and clients are at the forefront of service delivery.
The Senior will work with the Manager on building relationships with key partners, professionals, health care settings, agencies and stakeholders.
About You:

You’ll need to be familiar with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and legislation and be as passionate as we are about being the best we can be.
You will be able to think creatively, positively and use your own initiative, and you must be flexible and committed to achieving excellence and providing guidance and support to the team.
You will be confident and competent around assessing risk, following safeguarding processes, meeting health and safety requirements and ensuring record keeping is accurate, and reflecting current standards as required by CQC.
You will be responsible for mentoring, coaching and supporting the team, providing supervision and addressing any performance issues to report back to the manager. As such, previous senior/management experience would be beneficial.
