Your impact:
As the Assistant Buyer, you will support our Supply Chain team. This role involves managing documentation, expediting orders, issuing RFQs, and processing purchase orders. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders, liaise with suppliers, and ensure smooth procurement operations while handling administrative tasks.
The person:
* 3 A levels or equivalent qualification
* Procurement experience preferred
* Good communication, organisation and administration skills
* Adaptable and flexible with the ability to multi-task
* Eager to learn, approachable and proactive
* Good attention to detail and accuracy whilst maintaining confidentiality
* Team-oriented with good relationship-building skills
* Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant systems
* Takes ownership of tasks and works with integrity, ensuring accuracy and accountability
* Works professionally under pressure, meeting deadlines and maintaining a positive attitude
* Demonstrates reliability, responsibility and a commitment to continuous improvement
The job:
* Administering procurement documentation and maintaining accurate records.
* Preparing and issuing RFQs in accordance with company procedures and instructions.
* Supporting internal stakeholders with procurement-related requirements.
* Working closely with Finance to ensure accurate cost coding and invoice reconciliation.
* Managing and streamlining the procure-to-pay process.
* Organising and maintaining documentation for audit purposes.
* Participating in operations meetings, supplier discussions and scheduled status update calls.
* Handling credit control and customer service enquiries.
* Advancing orders through the procurement system and updating tracking documents.
* Monitoring supplier performance and providing feedback to ensure quality and reliability.
* Assisting in contract management by reviewing terms and ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
* Researching and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
* Coordinating with internal departments to ensure procurement aligns with project timelines.
* Maintaining supplier databases and updating records for easy reference.
* Providing support to the Logistics department when required.
