An Ocean Import Clerk is required for a busy expanding freight forwarder to join a friendly operations team based in Chertsey.
Duties would include handling Import Shipments Sea & Road from start to finish including custom procedures & invoicing and looking after key accounts.
1. Arrange collection of any overseas shipments from any country (not sanctioned countries) either directly through a designated haulier or by approved overseas agent, ensuring all correct documentation is in place.
2. Request clearance instructions for any shipment requiring an import clearance to be done or an appointed approved agent. Clearance instructions to be obtained in line with CDS requirements.
3. Ensure all shipments are cleared correctly and in a timely manner. Once cleared, arrange release or delivery of shipments ASAP.
4. Ensure invoicing requirements are met, issued correctly and in a timely manner.
5. Ensure that all relevant emails, documents, and information are uploaded/added into BoxTop. This includes copies of all import documentation and relevant emails in case of future audits.
Monday to Friday 0900 - 1730hrs
20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
