About the Role We are looking for a Team Leader for Flood Risk Management to join our team. This role is pivotal in leading our flood risk management efforts. You will be responsible for developing partnerships, policies, and community engagement strategies to ensure the council meets its statutory duties as the Lead Local Flood Authority. Your key responsibilities will include collaborating with risk management agencies and internal teams to mitigate flood risks, developing and implementing flood risk management strategies, policies, and delivery plans, and identifying funding opportunities while managing budgets. You will also lead and respond to strategic planning consultations, project manage the Oxfordshire Flood Risk Management Strategy, and ensure compliance with government policies and legislative changes. Additionally, you will promote the use of Sustainable Drainage Systems, support the Cabinet Member with responsibilities for flooding, and manage and motivate a team to deliver high-quality services. About you We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional with a relevant level 6 qualification or equivalent experience in a related field. You should have proven experience in developing and delivering multi-agency initiatives, strategies, and policies, along with strong knowledge of flood and water legislation and climate change issues. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills are essential, as is experience in partnership working with internal and external stakeholders. You should also be adept at managing data collection, interpretation, and reporting. A valid driving license and access to adequate transport are required. Desirable qualifications include experience in team management, budget management, and professional membership of an appropriate organisation.
