As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will carry out a range of professional accounting tasks, including compiling, reviewing, and analyzing financial data. You will oversee ledger management and contribute to the accurate preparation of the trial balance, monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Supporting the production of monthly management accounts, including calculating accruals for subcontractor projects and third-party rental activities.
* Performing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
* Processing cashbook payments and matching the cashbook entries.
* Managing and overseeing petty cash transactions.
* Conducting monthly stock reconciliations and resolving any identified discrepancies.
* Contributing to the ongoing upkeep of the Fixed Asset Register.
* Aiding in the preparation of audit schedules and assisting with tax computation responses.
* Providing assistance to the Financial Controller on various ad-hoc tasks.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* University degree in accounting or finance.
* Prior experience in a busy accounts department.
* Working towards a professional accounting qualification (desired, not required).
* Excellent time management skills and able to stick to tight deadlines.
* Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
