As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. Key Responsibilities: In your role as a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will: Offer tailored support to students with Special Educational (SEN) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them navigate challenges in their education. Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and emotional resilience. Build trusting relationships with pupils to foster a sense of security and belonging. Collaborate with teaching staff to provide a consistent and supportive learning environment. Assist in developing and maintaining individual support plans for students. Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to staff and families. Requirements: To excel in this Behaviour Support Assistant role, you should have: Prior experience working with children with SEN/SEMH needs (essential). A calm, patient, and nurturing attitude. Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with pupils, staff, and families. Confidence in managing challenging behaviours in a positive and constructive manner. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for one.
