Overall Purpose of the Job
To effectively and efficiently control the quality of Supplier manufactured equipment / components and the associated quality records.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
1. Perform Inspection on new manufactured, repaired, modified machined components and equipment during their life cycle using a variety of inspection tooling.
2. Produce detailed reports inclusive of marked up manufacturing drawings highlighting all findings, for engineering review.
3. Discuss inspection findings with those responsible for products (engineering department/workshop/vendors).
4. Raise non-conformance reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
5. Read and understand BOM, Engineering Drawings and design specifications.
6. Work in accordance with local Goods Inwards Quality Procedures.
7. Ensure all measuring equipment is kept safe, maintained, clean and within calibration.
8. Support and perform Non Destructive Examination (LPI & MPI) on repaired/modified components when required
Job Knowledge and Qualifications
9. Previous experience in a workshop or machine shop inspection role.
10. Excellent display of Quality Control Techniques.
11. Excellent knowledge of handheld measuring equipment such as internal/external Micrometres, Bower Gauges, Vernier callipers, Depth Gauges.
12. Ability to Interpret engineering drawings.
13. Previous experience of portable coordinate measuring machines as well as their associated software’s such as FARO, CMM, ROAMER, ABERLINK AND SMART INSPECT.
14. SNT L2 experience preferred however not essential as training will be given if all other prerequisites can be met, but basic working knowledge of NDE techniques and their applications within the industry are required.
15. IT literate and knowledge of Microsoft office suite, TrueView, CAD or equivalent.
