Here at DXC we have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced, on-site Desktop Support Engineer to provide support to a long standing client at Frimley.
This is a full-time permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday between the hours of 07:00 - 19:00.

Due to the nature of our client's work, the successful candidate will need to either hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance. For this reason, we are only able to progress applications from British nationals.
This role is primarily site-based at Frimley, but will involve support for supported sites such as Guildford. Travel to Guildford will be paid travel and driven based on service/absences.
Main responsibilities:
As a Desktop Support Engineer you will be:
1. Carrying out Security Audits of all devices holding Data on the network by Scanning and reporting.
2. IMAC’s – Installations, Moves, Additions and Changes.
3. Break-Fix of all in-scope managed devices.
4. Hands and Eyes Support to visually verify the state of managed devices such as servers and network devices.
5. Desktop Support including special project activities as they arise.
6. Asset Management & Stock Management.
7. Managing the lifecycle of loan user equipment.
8. Working directly alongside the client managing own workload whilst liaising with other teams or vendors to resolution.
9. Act as a central point of contact for the customer.
10. Software and system fault diagnosis, analysis and fix.
11. Take responsibility for stock used and follow the correct procedures regarding stock management.
12. Proactively keeping the customer updated with problem status at all times.
13. Identifying and reporting risk as appropriate in accordance with the guidelines.
Essential Skills:
1. Must have, or be able to obtain UK GOV Security Clearance at SC level.
2. Full, clean UK Driving License.
3. Proven troubleshooting skills.
4. Previous experience in a similar role with ITIL environment.
5. PC/Desktop Support knowledge including Microsoft Windows XP/7/10 onwards.
6. Excellent communicator both face-to-face & over the phone.
7. Administering Windows Share/File permissions.
8. Mobile connectivity (E.g. Android/IPhone).
9. Knowledge of SCCM.
10. Good knowledge of HP Workstation, Desktops & Laptops.
11. Must be able to deal productively with a high workload with minimal supervision.
12. Great attention to detail.
