Our client, a dynamic company in the technology sector, is seeking a Lead Mobile App Developer to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be instrumental in leading the development of a cross-platform mobile application for a smart baby monitor, integrating with wearable devices and camera streams. This hybrid role is based in Central London, with two days per week office-based working.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design and development of a cross-platform mobile app using React Native
2. Integrate the mobile app with hardware components such as wearable devices and hubs from initial pairing to real-time data streaming
3. Collaborate with the back-end team to integrate APIs, cloud services, and data processing pipelines
4. Implement video streaming and audio features from the camera
5. Develop a responsive and intuitive user interface, prioritising ease of use and performance
6. Ensure the app meets security and privacy regulations
7. Collaborate with QA to implement testing strategies, including unit testing and automated UI tests
8. Optimise app performance, ensuring smooth real-time data display and notifications
Job Requirements:
1. Significant experience in mobile app development, with extensive use of React Native
2. Strong experience with RESTful APIs and cloud services integration
3. Experience with video and audio streaming technologies (e.g., WebRTC, RTSP)
4. Familiarity with AWS
5. Strong understanding of mobile app performance optimisation and debugging
6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
7. Experience with IoT integration (desirable)
8. Familiarity with regulatory standards in health tech (desirable)
