A fire can cripple a business in an instant. Beyond the immediate threat to life and property, a fire can lead to costly downtime, data loss, and a damaged reputation. Regular fire safety audits are your proactive strategy to mitigate these risks and ensure business continuity.
TJ FIRE AND SECURITY, established in 1973, is an independent company that focuses on servicing companies large and small, providing its customers with the best possible service. They are installers and suppliers of fire alarms, emergency lighting, CCTV, access control, fire extinguishers, maintenance, fire training, and risk assessments throughout Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and the South East.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to employ up to three apprentices. The successful individuals will have the opportunity to work for an established employer and become multi-disciplined Fire and Security engineers.
Entry requirements
* 17+
* Must hold a driving licence
* Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS
* Hold Maths and English at a grade 4 or above
Training to be provided
Initially, the apprentice will work alongside experienced engineers, learning and developing in the fields of both fire and security.
The qualification you would be studying towards is the Fire Emergency Security Systems Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
Skills for Security will deliver the apprenticeship training in block release at their Watford Centre. You will attend the centre one week every eight weeks.
You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre and gather any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.
Things to consider
This is a 36-month apprenticeship; full commitment is needed during this time.

Future prospects
Upon successful completion, you will be offered a full-time position as a qualified engineer.
Hours per week: 40
Working week: 8.30am to 5.30pm
