Job Overview:
A primary school in Heysham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their Reception class team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality care and support to children aged 4-5 years. This position is ideal for someone passionate about early childhood education and looking to make a positive impact on young learners.
This position is to start on Thursday 12th September 2024
Key Responsibilities:
* Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities, ensuring all children are supported in their learning and development.
* Individual and Group Work: Support individual children or small groups with specific tasks, including phonics, numeracy, and literacy activities.
* Learning Environment: Help set up and maintain a safe, stimulating, and welcoming learning environment in the classroom and outdoor areas.
* Observations and Assessments: Contribute to the observation and assessment of children's progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and updating records as required.
* Personal Care: Assist with the personal care needs of the children, including supporting with dressing, toileting, and handwashing when necessary.
* Behaviour Management: Support the implementation of the school's behaviour management strategies, promoting positive behaviour and ensuring a safe learning environment.
* Parent Communication: Help maintain positive relationships with parents and carers, providing them with updates on their child's progress and well-being as directed by the class teacher.
* Safeguarding: Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the school.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
* Experience working in an Early Years setting, preferably within a Reception class
* A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
* Basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods

Working Hours:
