GRAHAM is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with sound knowledge of construction methods, safety, health and environmental legislation, and processes and procedures. Reporting to the Head of SHEQ, the successful candidate will provide help and advice across our Facilities Management Contracts and provide review and support for improvements to the existing SHE procedures. The post holder should have a proactive and enthusiastic attitude and be able to interact with the site teams, various business units and the Clients teams to ensure effective relationships are established. This is a significant role within the Company as we continue to endeavor to keep the workforce free from injury and ill health, help the Company meet our agreed objectives and targets, and ensure improvements to our current systems which provide ongoing compliance with current H&S and Environmental legislation. Location: Redditch, Worcestershire (with Nationwide travel) Hours Per Week: Monday - Friday ( 37.5 hours) Job Type: Permanent / Full Time Salary: Competitive Benefits: Up to 36 days paid annual leave, Excellent Company Pension, Free Life Assurance6 times annual salary, Training and Development, Discounted Private Health Care Scheme, Discounted Gym Membership and BUPA Health Assessments The SHE Advisorwill be responsible for: Providing support, advice and guidance to the Project Management team on SHE matters Conducting site health, safety & environmental compliance and behavioural/ cultural audits Investigating accidents, incidents and high potential observations Assisting with and/or deliver relevant training programmes Acting as Temporary Works Designated Individual Delivering induction programmes, tool-box talks and briefings if required Reviewing relevant company and subcontractors paperwork, including existing procedures and forms Preparing information for regular site bulletins Assisting in the preparation and updating of construction phase plans, method statements and risk assessments Assisting in the preparation and updating of environment management plans Being instrumental in encouraging observation reporting Attending and represent the company at relevant industry forums Leading by example In addition, from time to time the postholder may be required to: Assist with responses to PQQ, Bid, and tender questions Assist with new contract mobilisation Lia ise with Client requirements including joint audits and attending Client SHE meetings This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the job title and the range of duties to be undertaken. About You Essential Criteria: Formal H&S qualification e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum Holder of CSCS / CSR card Appropriate Security Clearance (or a willingness and ability to obtain it) Detailed knowledge of Temporary Works Detailed Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation Detailed Knowledge of relevant Environmental legislation Demonstrate a sound understanding of construction processes Minimum of 5 years H&S experience gained in construction or a construction related discipline Minimum of 3 years experience gained in construction or asset management Demonstrate strong communication, numeracy and literacy skills Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel Hold a full driving license and personal vehicle Be of reasonable health and mobility for construction site visits Desirable Criteria: NEBOSH Construction Certificate or Diploma Experience gained from working directly on or with site teams in a construction environment Working towards, or possessing, as a minimum Grad IOSH or equivalent professional qualification Detailed knowledge of the relevant management standards (45001 / HSG65) Awareness of the quality management and environmental systems and standards (9001/ 14001/ etc.) Knowledge of a Behavioural Based Safety approach to H&S improvement Awareness of current Client standards and expectations Please note that Applicants will not be expected to meet any (or all) of the desirable criteria to be considered for interview.
