We are seeking a specialist A Level Psychology teacher for a fixed-term maternity cover position within a large department. You will be responsible for learner achievement and outcomes, and experience with BTEC Psychology is desirable. This includes closure days at Christmas (pro rata for part time staff).\nSupport Staff 39 days\nAcademic 44 days\nSenior Management 44 days\nExcellent Pension schemes\nTeachers’ Pension Scheme \nLocal Government Pension Scheme \nMemberships and discounts - employees can sign up to various membership cards and discount schemes such as TOTUM card (formerly NUS card). \nTravel and commuting - discounted travel available through Metro card, Northern Rail, First Bus, Arriva Bus and Cycle to work schemes.\nLearning and development opportunities - including staff development days\nEmployee wellbeing initiatives\nFlexible and hybrid working opportunities - this will vary depending on role requirementsWhat You Will Do Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of on-line learning resources for identified modules, new units and courses in line with government policy, awarding body developments as well as student, community, economic and employer demands/requirements.\n\nResponsible for retention, achievement, value added and attendance rates for identified cohorts by meeting the department requirements for student tracking and interventions.\n\nMotivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression including implementing positive interventions where needed, for students undertaking identified modules.\n\nDeliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.\n\nDevelop and employ effective assessment activities with clear feedback strategies and application of internal quality assurance processes for identified modules.\n\nReflect on what works best in teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of students.\n\nAdapt curriculum delivery methods to maximise their effectiveness, including through the use of technology.\n\nAssess student work, provide constructive and timely feedback to motivate and inspire the learner to improve and record learners’ progress for identified modules.\n\nApply theoretical understanding of effective practice in teaching, learning and assessment drawing on research and other evidence and engage in the Group’s CPD practices\n\nAbout You Hold a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE)\n\nHold a relevant higher level vocational qualification or degree in teaching in a subject within the Leeds Sixth Form curriculum area\n\nAct with honesty and integrity to maintain high standards of ethics and professional standards\n\nProven experience working within curriculum, including planning, monitoring and reviewing\n\nEffective knowledge of the college and an appreciation of the wider educational issues\n\nBe able to creates and appreciate new ideas and perspectives, seeing possibilities and challenges\n\nBe able to manage and promote restorative practice approaches and the strengthening of relationships\n\nBe a role model and promote a positive image of the college\n\nBe able to embody the college values: Collaborative; Inspiring; Passionate; Aspirational; Celebrate Individuality; Respectful\n\nBe able to comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements\n\nAbout UsBy joining Leeds Sixth Form College you join a community dedicated to improving the lives of young people through education.
