The Role: Our client is seeking a Grid Manager with a strong electrical background to support upcoming wind-focused projects, while also working across solar and BESS developments. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Grid or Grid Engineer/Consultant looking for their next career step. You will play a key role in managing grid connections and bringing energisation dates forward, while maintaining a cost-conscious approach. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen understanding of regulatory frameworks. Key Responsibilities: Grid Connection Management: Oversee the entire grid connection process, from feasibility to energisation. Technical Expertise: Provide critical input for grid applications, ensuring compliance with UK distribution and transmission regulations. Cost & Efficiency Optimization: Identify opportunities to accelerate grid connection timelines and reduce project costs. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with DNOs, TOs, NESO, and ICPs/IDNOs to streamline approvals and technical requirements. Compliance & Testing: Work with OEMs to develop cost-effective testing and compliance strategies. Technical Drawings & AutoCAD: Ability to interpret and work with technical drawings is essential. Industry Insights: Stay up to date with regulatory and policy changes, reporting key updates to internal teams. Who We’re Looking For: Electrical Engineering Background – Civil engineering experience will not be considered. Wind Energy Bias – Preference for candidates with wind expertise, but strong solar and BESS experience will also be considered. Strong Technical Knowledge – Understanding of grid compliance, power modeling, and electrical infrastructure. Problem Solver – Someone who can proactively bring connection dates forward while keeping costs down. Career Progression Ready – Previous management experience is not essential – we welcome applications from Project Managers, Engineers, or Grid Engineers looking for a step up.
