Description We are looking for 2 talented Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our DTO Product Development Business Unit in UK, Darlington, County Durham, United Kingdom These are permanent positions. HC Rota 3 shift rotation weekly- Mornings (Monday to Friday 6.00am to 2.00pm) Afternoons (Monday to Friday 2.00pm to 10.00pm) Nightshift (Sunday to Thursday 10.00pm to 6.00am) HC Weekend shifts workdays 7:00am-7:00pm and nights 7:00pm – 7:00am over a 4-week period as below:- Fri/Sat/Sun Days Fri/Sat/Sun Nights Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon Days Fri/Sat/Sun Nights In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Working proactively to maintain and repair equipment across multiple areas of the facility. Maintaining process capability and reliability to achieve optimum availability of machinery, equipment, related plant and services. Effectively being able to operate Development Test Cells and prioritising cells based on optimum performance. Optimize test cell operations by prioritizing based on performance. Support continuous improvement by preventing potential issues. Enhance safety and quality by ensuring equipment operates safely. Demonstrate adaptability with a rotating week/weekend shift schedule. Education/Experience Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Troubleshooting, assembles, installs, tests and maintains mechanical systems using all necessary tools to keep equipment available and capable. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess safety risks, prioritize tasks, and make decisions that enhance productivity and equipment availability. Effective Communication: Skills in communicating with employees to understand issues and coordinate with external suppliers for parts and services. May work independently and instruct or coach others. Adaptability and Independence: Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. Capability to work independently with limited supervision, manage a 24/7 shift schedule, and respond to equipment breakdowns promptly. Responsibilities To be successful in this role you will need the following: The role involves a combination of responding to test cell breakdowns in line with the priorities assigned as reported by the shift team and operating the test cell as a Test Cell Operator. The priority of the job is to ensure that all cells are in a position to run tests and all equipment is functional. Once the test cells are functional, the priority to provide assistance in supporting the actual engine tests. The Job Holder will be required to work on the 24/7 shift arrangements and, together with the other teams, provide a 24/7 support of the maintenance and breakdown activities. The Job holder will be required to work independently and with limited supervision. They will be responsible for prioritising their own work in line with work objectives and make decisions that will increase productivity across the site. The job holder is responsible for a wide range of duties. This includes maintenance of Test Cell Equipment and Support Systems to a planned regime, breakdown support as well as assisting in the running of engines tests. The role requires the job holder to give attention to safety. They must first assess a problem and safety risks before tackling the repair. This involves talking to the employees (managers, operators or engineers) to understand the nature of the issue. Job holders may need to order parts, working with external suppliers to find the best price and quickest delivery time. Qualifications Required Qualifications: HNC qualified in related field. NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds 2365 Level 3. City and Guilds 2382-15 18th Edition.
