With an annual salary of up to £60,000 plus a range of highly attractive employee benefits and an end-of-year performance-related bonus scheme, this role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis supported by hybrid working (3 days office and 2 days home). Job Overview: This client seeks a talented and highly creative New Product Development Engineer, reporting to the Senior Development Engineer you will be involved in the development of large-scale complex projects, including the completion of detail design, product qualification and all assigned New Product Development deliverables. Responsible for the initial concept implementation stages of new product delivery that enhance all telecommunications product and service offerings. Working closely with cross-functional teams is key to the success of this role, ensuring that customer products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Key Responsibilities: • Working with new and existing customers to analyse product specifications, ensuring that applicable regulations and legislation remain at the forefront at all times• To design and develop new telecommunications products from concept to manufacturing.• Collaborate with R&D, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure product feasibility and market readiness.• Conduct thorough testing and validation of prototypes to ensure product reliability and performance.• Support the creation and maintenance of process documentation and full participation in customer design review meetings to assess performance • Provide support with cost and pricing formulation, ensuring that budgets and timelines for design, development and research meet the expectations of the customer and wider business• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.• Provide technical support and guidance to junior draft engineers and other team members.• Prepare detailed documentation and reports on product development processes and outcomes. Qualifications and Experience: • Degree Level Mechanical Engineering or/and Telecommunications, or a related field. (Essential) • 3-5 years of proven design and new project development engineering experience • Previous experience gained within an injection mould design and development sector• Experience in design working with plastics and sheet metal • 2 years of SolidWorks and AutoCAD (2D and 3D Modelling) experience • Able to demonstrate process implementation and management of engineering change programs • Proficiency in MS Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint) • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
