An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 nurse to work within a small Tissue Viability team.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated nurse, working part-time to support the Tissue Viability Nurse Specialists in their role promoting high quality, evidence-based wound care advice and education to patients and staff within the north area of West Sussex (Crawley, Horsham, Mid Sussex and the surrounding areas).
You will be responsible for supporting the community teams, community inpatient units, and other primary health care staff with the management of patients with complex and/or chronic wounds, including pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, and other wounds. This will be achieved with the shared aim of promoting excellent care at the heart of the community.
As the Tissue Viability Nurse, you will assist with the development and participate in the delivery of the tissue viability educational programme to health care personnel involved with wound care and skin care within the local health economy. This will include formal group training, facilitating TVN link nurse sessions, and one-to-one training of staff, patients, and relatives.
You will also be working as part of the wider Sussex Community Foundation Trust to promote best practice and ongoing service development that is responsive to the wound care needs of the area the service provides. When necessary, you will deputise for the Band 7 Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist and work as part of the wider SCFT TVN team on Trust-wide tissue viability related projects.
