Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
We are recruiting a full-time Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist for a 12 month fixed contract for maternity leave cover. The Adult Mental Health Liaison Service (AMHLS) is a multidisciplinary service working alongside Consultant Liaison Psychiatrists and Unscheduled Care Mental Health Nurses. We provide psychiatric/psychological assessment, consultation, and management advice for patients presenting in crisis, with suicidal ideation and self-harm. The service also works with patients experiencing psychological distress during a hospital admission due to a physical health condition, providing specialist assessment, brief psychological interventions, and consultation to the medical and surgical teams.
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about multidisciplinary working and enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced dynamic environment where no day is the same. There are opportunities to contribute to service development, reflective practice, teaching/training and regular CPD.
This post would be an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with highly developed skills for assessing risk and looking for a new challenge for 12 months.
We look forward to receiving enquiries about this post from HCPC registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologists. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check. The hours for this part-time post are flexible, worked Monday-Friday (between the hours of 9am-5pm). For full essential criteria, please refer to the job description.
