Job Title: NI Fitter
We are currently recruiting for a NI Fitter to join our team based out of our Addlestone Office in the South. The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring & setting out lift/escalator installations in accordance with approved procedures. They will also ensure compliance with statutory regulations and organisational safety standards. Additionally, they will prepare the work area for installation activities, and handle handover and confirmation of completion of installation activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Install lift/escalator well and ancillary equipment according to approved procedures, selecting appropriate tools and equipment based on the operations and equipment to be installed.
2. Install traction equipment, including siting, assembly, fitting, alignment, and adjustment of lift/escalator components.
3. Install and adjust lift ropes (traction media), including suspension, safety, and governor ropes for new or reconstructed lift equipment.
4. Install lift doors and frames, including manual and power-operated doors, multi-leaf, hinged, collapsible gates, shutter gates, bi-parting doors, and safety devices.
5. Check and set the lift/escalator installation, including final checks and adjustments before testing and commissioning.
6. Conduct site surveys.
7. Keep the supervisor informed about work progress, hours, and any non-compliance issues.
8. Communicate with customers to ensure their needs are met.
9. Attend all relevant training sessions.
10. Work in accordance with the company's Quality Corporate policy and Occupational Health and Safety policies, ensuring compliance with UK legal requirements and company safety standards.
11. Contribute to the company's safety objectives by maintaining safety systems and implementing safety management system changes where applicable.
Candidate Requirements:
* Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator Installation or equivalent.
* Possession of a valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
* Advanced product and installation knowledge/experience.
* Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
* Good communication skills at various levels (clients, installation managers, inspectors).
* Good punctuality.
* Manual dexterity for repetitive lifting, operating tools, and recording information.
