The postholder will provide a highly effective and supportive role to the Corporate Governance Manager, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Director of Corporate Governance delivering a range of responsibilities. Their day-to-day remit will see them working closely with executive directors and delivery units in the delivery of their function which will involve providing specialist support to administer senior committees and groups (to facilitate the smooth operation of the health board's formal decision and reporting processes) ensuring that minutes, register returns and papers are completed, stored and distributed appropriately, and that due diligence is applied to all transactions. The postholder will also assist in preparation of information for the organisational annual report and annual public meetings. They will oversee various elements of compliance with standing orders including, and entries into the gifts and hospitality register and declarations of interest register.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Act as secretariat for designated senior organisational committee, groups and boards. The postholder will support the management of the health board's formal decision and reporting processes ensuring the smooth running of all such meetings by bringing forward scheduled agenda items, compiling and agreeing the agenda with the chair of the committee, attending such meetings (including some that may take place out of normal office hours) to produce prompt succinct formal minutes and summarising key decisions/actions for dissemination. The postholder will be responsible for the processes in operation to produce high quality multiple copies of agenda papers and the appropriate sharing of such papers either electronically or in hard copy format in a timely manner.
Co-ordinate the gathering of a range of information some of which may be highly sensitive/ complex in nature in order to produce a succinct summary of issues in the form of minutes and reports for senior committees and groups.

Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent

* Experience in a corporate governance role either working within board and committee structures or programme/project boards.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience as a policy professional providing advice and influencing senior stakeholders.
* Proven track record of writing policy briefings, reports and presenting findings to differing audiences.
* Familiarity with health policy and a comprehensive understanding of NHS structures, policy, and strategy.
* Skilled in addressing controversial/ethical issues sensitively.
* Experience of working within the health arena.
* Experience of delivering change effectively including guiding others to cope with operating in an agile, changing environment and dealing with opposition to change.
