NVQ in Health and Social Care and/or experience of working in a care environment is essential.

Main duties of the job
You'll support the clinical team in the delivery of a high standard of care by assisting with and carrying out a range of duties as directed by registered staff, ensuring patients are at the centre of care and treatment planning.
Job responsibilities
* To carry out assigned duties, involving direct care and observation of service users under the guidance of qualified staff.
* To report to the registered staff any observations made while providing care to service users.
* To work with service users on an individual and group basis as outlined in the care plan.
* To assist with activities of daily living as agreed in the service user care plan.
* To maintain effective communication with other departments and services.
* To assist service users with self-administration of oral medication.
* To contribute to maintaining a safe environment for service users.
* To develop and maintain links with other agencies and services.
* To carry out observations and inform the Registered Nurse of any concerns.
* To respond to the changing needs of service users.
Person Specification
Qualifications / Experience
* NVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care and/or experience of working in a care setting.
* Experience with individuals with mental health conditions.
Knowledge
* Understanding of issues of confidentiality.
* Ability to work as a member of a team.
Skills
* Ability to work on own initiative under the supervision of a qualified practitioner.
