Purpose of the Role
Join the Project and Programme Management Practice as the Tribe Leader where you'll champion our people, growing the skills and capabilities within the Practice. In addition, you'll work with cross-functional teams, building awareness of the Practice across the business and the stakeholders. Reporting into the Head of Delivery your main responsibilities include;
* Line management of a team of Project Managers and Programme Managers, working closely with Value Stream Leads who are responsible for the project deliveries. This is a role where you can truly make a difference to people, giving them the support they need to enable them to deliver the projects that add meaningful value to Bentley
* Building on the work the IT team have done to embed a waterfall change delivery framework and governance standards, you’ll be facilitating continuous improvement feedback and working with IT stakeholders to introduce further standards, best practice and tooling
* Build trust in our change delivery capability by ensuring we have the right skills and ways of working required, or trained to an appropriate level
* Lead the transformation of our people capability to enhance Bentley’s organisational change delivery maturity, prove out and scale a bi-modal iterative change delivery methodology delivering value sooner
* Capturing and reporting the skills and capability requirements and working with the team to introduce a career path framework for those who want to progress
* Develop and deliver a community of practice across all levels of the business to support the change delivery capabilities
About the Team
Joining the IT function you will lead a team of Project and Programme Managers empowering the team to deliver our shared strategy by setting clear goals and priorities, providing feedback and enabling colleagues to grow. The team operate within a mainly waterfall delivery model, though experience of Agile is also needed as some of the development partners use this methodology.
About you – Skills and Experience
* Experience working as a Practice Lead – Leading a Project and Programme Management function
* Demonstrable experience as People Manager – With a focus on Line Management of Project and Programme Managers
* Demonstrable experience of cross functional delivery, including Agile working, knowledge of Project and Programme Management Tools, Techniques and best practice and application.
* Understanding of Project delivery tools, techniques and best practice
* Experience of People and Capability Transformation
* Good business awareness and ability to make, and influence decisions within business context
* Ability to communicate strategic and operational messages to all levels
* Collaboration is a critical skill for this role. The ability to prioritise and work calmly under pressure are also required
* Experience of Financial control and process management, to allow you to offer support to the budget owners
