The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our permanent team in our Male PICU service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping patient care and contributing to the ongoing success of our services.
Role Responsibilities
* Providing high-quality clinical care for patients referred to and using the services of the hospital, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that clients receive a holistic and person-centric care and treatment programme based on the recovery model.
* Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews, and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
* Providing expert psychiatric assessments and treatment for a diverse patient population.
* Leading and managing patient care within your specialty, ensuring the highest standards of care.
* Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, therapists, and nursing staff.
* Engaging in clinical governance and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
* Participating in on-call rotations, ensuring continuous high-quality care.
* Fostering relationships with external stakeholders and maintaining a network of professional contacts.
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
* Committing to ongoing professional development and meeting Revalidation requirements.
Candidate Profile
* Full GMC registration with specialist registration in psychiatry.
* Extensive experience in Forensic psychiatry.
* Strong knowledge of Clinical Governance and adherence to regulatory frameworks.
* Successful completion of an enhanced DBS check, provided by Suttons Manor.
* The post holder will hold a CCST / CCT (or equivalent) in the relevant areas of Psychiatry and will have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties.
* Ability to work autonomously to agreed short and medium term objectives.
* Ability to understand the impact of actions on patient care and the workings of the multidisciplinary team.
* Problem-solving skills based on systemic knowledge and experience, with some adaptive and creative thinking required.
