Secondary School Learning Support Assistant (SEMH)
* KS1 Learning Support Assistant
* General classroom support & 1-1
* SEMH & ASD students
* Full-Time
* Swindon (SN2)
* September Start
Long-term Teachers are working closely with a brilliant Special secondary school in Swindon. They are looking for an LSA to join the team from September in providing support across a range of different classes (KS3-KS4).
The school do vital work for families in the area, looking after students with Social, Emotional & Mental health (SEMH) & ASD. Having placed a number of full-time staff at the school over the years, I can confidently say how brilliant a school they are and how well they support their staff. The work is challenging but incredibly rewarding.
The Role
This role is ideally for someone looking for a full-time/long-term position as consistency for the students is very important. Due to the needs of the students it is imperative that you have had experience working with challenging behaviour, ideally in a school setting.
This role is incredibly varied but it will involve classroom support as well as 1-1 support. Due to them being a secondary school, it helps if there are a few subjects that you specialise in (as you would be prioritised for these subjects).
You will be expected to:
* Be adaptable and flexible around the needs of the pupils.
* Have experience of working with SEMH/ASD.
* Feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour.
* Support students on a personal level as well as educational.
* Proactively support the class teachers.
