About the Role:

Quality Personnel is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Buyer to join our client's team on a 12-month maternity leave cover contract. Key Responsibilities:
* Take charge of the daily review of the buyer workbench using the ERP system
* Raise, maintain, and expedite Purchase Orders for stock and non-stock items
* Prepare and deliver accurate pricing quotes for design, sales, intercompany, and incoming freight teams
* Build lasting relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality and timely deliveries
* Manage part parameters, stocking levels, and price lists within the ERP system
* Stay ahead by notifying and mitigating any cost increases
* Create new part numbers when needed, ensuring smooth workflow
* Analyze supplier KPIs to improve delivery performance and stock availability
* Update and maintain training resources to keep the team on top of their game
Key Performance Criteria:
* Achieve KPIs and performance targets to ensure seamless operation and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For:
* Experience: Proven background in purchasing administration or a similar role
* Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ERP experience (Epicor is a bonus)
* Qualification: Eagerness to study for your CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) certification
* Knowledge: Basic understanding of engineering drawings is a plus
* Unmatched attention to detail and exceptional admin skills
* Proactive, with a "can-do" attitude and a knack for problem-solving
* Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with all levels of staff
* The ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
