Fleet Manager Base : Stoke on Trent - Hybrid working, typically working 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday- flexibility or reduced working hours are considered for the right applicant. As a Fleet Manager in our business you will work with our managed services providers and internal team's to ensure that all vehicles are managed efficiently and meet all legal and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for optimising the fleet performance, reducing costs whilst ensuring safety of our drivers, circa 400 commercial vehicles and salary sacrifice vehicles. As an expert in fleet management you will work with our operational teams, calling upon your knowledge and understanding of customers, manufacturer solutions and marketing forces to, drive innovation, reduce our carbon footprint, benchmark performance, reduce risk and deliver best value. An outline of your responsibilities as a Fleet Manager Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and disposal of fleet vehicles. Develop and implement fleet policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensure compliance with all UK transport laws and regulations Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing and repairs. Manage fleet budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities. Implement fuel efficiency and sustainability initiatives. Use telematics and fleet management systems to monitor performance and compliance. Oversee driver safety, training, and compliance with health & safety policies. Handle accident investigations and insurance claims related to fleet incidents. Coordinate with suppliers, leasing companies, and service providers to ensure smooth operations. Maintain accurate records of vehicle documentation, inspections, and licences About You You will have experience of working as a Fleet Manager of a mission critical vehicle fleet, ideally managing circa 400 vehicles, which will give you the knowledge to hit the ground running. It is preferred you have knowledge or understanding of fleet management software and vehicle tracking systems and their use to optimise fleet performance and driver safety. A f amiliarity with UK transport legislation and Practical applications of H&S regulations will support your success in this role. The ideal candidate will posses e xcellent organisational skills and strong communication skills, with the ability to forge strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. From time to time, based on projects within the business, there may be a requirement for national travel, therefore it is essential that the candidate holds a full driving license.
