I require support to live my daily life as a wheelchair dependent, mobility impaired woman. I am a type 2 diabetic also, currently stable.
I require manual handling and hoisting for daily tasks such as getting out of bed, showering etc. The job requires help with all aspects of personal care including toileting, washing, applying moisturiser, hair care and other grooming etc. Meal planning and some meal preparation is required.
Help with physiotherapy exercises required also, and training is given. Other tasks (as an example, help with checking stock of medication, making lists for a repeat prescription order, and loading meds into plastic dispensers) required as and when.
My interests are many, liking to keep active physically inasmuch as I am able, with help from PAs Cognitively I keep busy through reading, social media, tv and films, and conversation. Cooking, crafting, photography and the outdoors are other positive activities in my life after family and friends.
I am a member of the National Trust and the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, and I find many opportunities there for photos, as well as the advantages of the great outdoors on a fine day for health and well-being.
