We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. You will play a crucial role in providing support to individuals with varying needs, ensuring they live independent, fulfilling, and positive lives. Duties:
1. Support individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene and motivate them to get ready for any planned appointments/activities.
2. Provide behaviour management support to individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours.
3. Prepare nutritious meals and conduct 1-2-1 cooking sessions according to dietary requirements and preferences.
4. Administer medication as prescribed and ensure accurate record-keeping.
5. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the individual's mental well-being.
6. Escort individuals to appointments or social activities as needed.
7. Maintain a clean and safe environment for the individuals, ensuring their comfort at all times.
8. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other professionals to implement care plans effectively.
9. Provide specialised care for each individual's need.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in any settings as a support worker.
2. A background in nursing or relevant healthcare qualifications is preferred but not essential.
3. Strong understanding of care principles and practices.
4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with the individuals and their families.
5. Capability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and empathy.
6. Valid driving license is desirable for transporting individuals when necessary.
7. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and waking nights if required.
8. A genuine passion for providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From £11.44-£12.00 per hour
