More about our team and what we will need from you… Operational Technology (OT) refers to the set of digital assets which are at the very heart of Anglian Waters industrial operations. Operational technology systems are deployed throughout our geographical region to enable remote monitoring and control of water collection, treatment and distribution processes. The demand for Operational Technology solutions within the Water sector is soaring due to the opportunities associated with IT / OT integration and Industry 4.0 applications. It is recognised that OT is key in enabling us to achieve our performance commitments (including reduction in leakage and pollutions) and providing an excellent service to our customers. The OT Network Engineer role is part of the OT Network and Infrastructure team and is responsible for ensuring the availability, maintenance and assurance of the OT Network service. The role will be at the centre of the growing OT Domain, ensuring that Anglian Waters assets are maintained and operational 24/7. The role will maintain a relentless focus on service excellence, customer service and service improvement. The role holder will maintain a large estate of routers, firewalls and managed switch appliances that are geographically disperse across the Anglian Water region. Maintenance activities include deploying firmware patches, managing & configuring VLANs, subnets, firewall rules enhancement etc. The position holder will ensure the availability of the OT Networks by responding to system generated alerts and incident tickets and will support users of OT Networks by troubleshooting any identified problems. The OT Network Engineer will work closely with the OT Programme and Project teams to assist with the delivery of technical changes. Responsibilities include: Project Engagement, Design Reviews/approval, development and execution of Test Plans. The OT Network Engineers will drive optimisation within the OT Networks by utilising tools such as Secure Rating and Risk Registers to drive enhancements across the domain. What does it take to be an OT Network Engineer? Experience with maintaining assets across a complex TCP/IP Network Experience with troubleshooting issues across a complex TCP/IP Network Understanding of Wide Area Network technologies and routing protocols Experienced at subnetting and IP Address allocation Experienced in the prioritisation of faults and changes Experience of Customer (Internal & External) Relationship Management Good understanding of Cyber Security risks Related Professional Qualification Ability to generate and analyse reports and data of value in identifying performance of network systems and components Ability to establish, maintain and work collaboratively with support teams, third parties customers End User Support and guidance, via email, phone, or face to face. Managing job queues and own workload, including prioritisation of work Excellent customer service skills & communication skills For this position you will need to be available to participate within a 24/7 standby rota for OT Network and Infrastructure incidents and have a full UK Driving Licence.
