Job Description: HR Executive
SmartPro is excited to be recruiting for a regional legal firm seeking a HR Executive to join its HR team. In this role, you will work closely with HR leaders, providing day-to-day support across multiple locations. This position offers a blend of hands-on HR operations and participation in key projects, contributing to the firm's continued reputation as an employer of choice.
Location: Luton
Salary: £33,000- £35,000 (DOE)
Hours: Monday - Friday: 09:00am - 17:15pm
Main Duties:
1. Overseeing the onboarding process for new staff and handling the exit process for leavers.
2. Collaborating with management on flexible working requests and family leave, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
3. Responding to employee queries and promoting strong internal relations.
4. Ensuring accurate and up-to-date personnel records are maintained, including contracts and key documents, within the HR database.
5. Assisting with the organisation and facilitation of training and development initiatives.
6. Dealing with complex employee issues.
7. Policy writing and implementation.
8. Initiating and presenting new ideas.
Skills and Experience:
1. CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
2. At least 3 years of relevant HR experience, within a professional services environment.
3. Experience with HR and payroll systems.
4. Strong organisational skills, able to balance multiple tasks in a busy work environment.
5. Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
6. High levels of discretion and professionalism, with strong communication skills.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other HR software.
