What you’ll be responsible for
The role will report to the Production Manager and will work closely with Supervisors and the business teams to ensure a first class service is provided to our customers.
Roles are located in the same location as the local Production Management Team to ensure maximum efficiency, with the applicant expected to travel regionally as required.
* Fully responsible for the overseeing and delivery of efficient work plans to ensure maximum productivity and performance of Production Operations and MEI. Ensure all strategic maintenance is completed within operational area at the required frequency. Assist with coordination and planning of shutdowns/intrusive activities to minimise abortive costs.
* Monitor regulatory deadlines and assist with planning of tasks across area to ensure all regulatory tasks are completed within required timelines. Monitor and manage work plans and facilitate where necessary to ensure area compliance (including but not limited to; statutory maintenance tasks including RPZ valves, UV maintenance, pressure vessel inspections etc., tank cleans, chemical tank cleans if required).
* Ability to analyse and interpret data to produce high level area performance reports to support wider management team. Review area strategic performance via power BI/SAP and work with team to ensure compliance with maintenance and regulatory targets. Create work plans to address shortfalls and work with team to ensure their delivery.
* Ensure operational teams are involved in the prioritisation; renegotiation and reorganisation of work to ensure risk and waste are eliminated working alongside MEI/Ops supervisors, ensuring all maintenance tasks are scheduled and completed, with any shortfalls identified.
* A team approach to work with Operations and senior technicians who will support the planning and scheduling process.
* Ability to work under your own initiative and be enthusiastic, self-motivated to achieve the required outputs. Ownership of all planned activity across operating area managed and tracked locally ensuring maintenance plans are appropriately distributed and manageable across the teams to ensure resource is managed effectively. Develop working relationships with SAP data, Water Assets, Distribution, framework contractors. Maintain accurate records, reports and track outstanding work.
* Knowledge and understanding of internal and external audit processes to ensure IMS compliance is met across operating area.
* Good understanding of distribution requirements and management of asset health etc.
* Be an active member of the operational management team and assist with management responsibilities or managing of operational tasks if required and support supervisors with facilitating site work and completing MOC where required.
* Support the health, safety and wellbeing of all team members and contract workforce by co-ordinating and planning relevant activities, whilst demonstrating role model H&S behaviours and leadership.

Internal:
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with both the local ME&I and Operations teams.
* Strong working relationship with MEI and Operations supervisor.
* Strong working relationships within the Water Services team.
* Production Engineers and local asset management teams in relation to promoting asset improvements.
* Advice and support the procurement, finance and HR teams.
External:
* Suppliers and Contractors to ensure brought in services are being executed safely, cost effectively and at appropriate levels of services.
* DWI as required in support of the Water Quality team.
* Health and Safety Executive as required.
* Environment Agency in relation to discharges and abstractions.
About you
Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
* Proven Operational experience within water services and able to demonstrate good understanding of planned and reactive maintenance.
* Ability to analyse and interpret data to produce high level area performance reports to support wider management team.
* Good organisational and planning skills with the ability to think logically and reassess priorities under short timeframes, responding and reprioritising to reactive demands whilst communicating with all parties on key issues to meet required deadlines.
* Excellent communication and listening skills with an ability to give clear and concise instructions and interpret information to make prompt decisions.
* The ability to develop positive working relationships and be seen as a highly credible team player who will support business improvement initiatives.
* Ability to deliver across all core company values with proven experience.
* Good working knowledge and understanding of SAP WM, preferably with experience of allocating or scheduling jobs for Operations or MEI craftsmen is desirable.
* Experience of working on clean water production or distribution assets with good understanding of key performance drivers, asset health and understanding of site operability is desirable.
* NVQ Level 3 or higher, BTEC, ONC / HNC qualifications in Water Treatment Process Operations or a time served craftsperson in one of the M, E or I discipline or equivalent is desirable.

The successful candidate will be required to participate in Bronze Standby rota and the role includes a company van.
